The Social Security System (SSS) recently opened a service office in Molave, Zamboanga del Sur to better serve members.
SSS Vice President for Mindanao West Division Rodrigo Filoteo shared that it was his dream to establish a service office in the first district of the province since he was branch head in Pagadian City.
He added that the creation of the service office will help decongest the number of clients at its supervising branch in Pagadian City which currently covers 26 towns and 681 villages. On average, 3,477 transactions are done in SSS Pagadian Branch.
Almost 70,000 members and pensioners can now be serviced by the new branch in Pagadian City.
“Establishing a service office in the first district is an impossible dream but with the help of the local officials, that dream was made possible after all,” Filoteo proudly announced.
Due to its first class municipality, growing industries and various commercial banks and strategic location in the first district, Filoteo said that Molave is the ideal site for the service branch.
70,000 members and pensioners will no longer need to travel 38 kilometers to Pagadian City to do their SSS transactions. These members can avail services including issuance of forms, Social Security Numbers and Employer ID numbers, receipt of requests for data amendment, employee reports on newly-hired or additional members, and application for maternity benefits and salary loans, and inquiry and verification of SSS records.
SSS Pagadian Branch Head James Buckly said that the opening of the new service office is fulfilling SSS’s policy to bring the agency’s programs closer to its clients.
“This is another remarkable achievement of SSS Pagadian, Mindanao West Division. It marks a company’s growth in terms of members, personnel and businesses. It also offers a large area and gives personnel and members an improved working environment,” said Buckly.
The SSS Molave Service Office will be initially manned by two trained and qualified SSS personnel, and will hold office at the town hall of Molave based on the agreement between the SSS and the local government signed last July. Under the Memorandum of Agreement, SSS will occupy the space free of rent on 15-square meter area on the second floor of Molave’s municipal hall.
