There are still a number of Social Security System members who find it hard to use the online facility due to the lack of internet connection or even the technical knowledge of doing so. Thus, SSS has launched an automated text service to cater to all.
Even if you do not have internet connection, you do not have to travel to your SSS branch to easily obtain information regarding your contributions, loans, etc. You just need to have a working mobile phone and follow these easy steps.
First, you need to register to the SSS Text Service.
Just Text
SSS REG <SS Number> <Date of Birth>
Then send to 2600 for Globe, Smart and Sun Cellular subscribers.
Example:
SSS REG 0123456789 10/24/78
Take note of the spaces and the format of the date of birth. It should be on this format mm/dd/yy
You will receive a message from 2600 containing your PIN. After you have received the text confirmation, you may now use the SSS Text Services
To know your contribution, simply text SSS CONTRIB <SS Number> <PIN>
To check the status of your loan, simply text SSS LOANSTAT <SS Number> <PIN>
To check your remaining loan balance, simply text SSS LOANBAL <SS Number> <PIN>

If you happen to have forgotten your PIN, you can always reset it via the text inquiry services. Just key in SSS RESET . Remember that the format is mm/dd/yy.
