The Social Security System (SSS) has rolled out the new MySSS Card, replacing the old Unified Multi-Purpose Identification (UMID) card.
This upgraded card comes with an EMV chip and doubles as a debit card connected to a personal savings account.
Aside from serving as a valid government ID, the MySSS Card is also integrated with the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) for secure biometric and eVerify authentication — giving members both convenience and added protection.

Replacement for Old SSS or UMID Cards

Key Benefits of the MySSS Card
According to SSS President and CEO Robert Joseph Montes De Claro, the MySSS Card will serve as the main disbursement channel for all SSS transactions.
“Once a member applies for the MySSS Card, their partner bank savings account will automatically be linked to the SSS for benefits, loans, and other proceeds,” De Claro said. “They no longer need to enroll their account through the Disbursement Account Enrollment Module (DAEM).”
He added that the partnership between SSS and RCBC is a major step toward the digital modernization of government services in the Philippines.
Beyond faster access to SSS benefits, members can also use the MySSS Card for shopping, online payments, and even public transportation fares — offering both practicality and financial flexibility in one government-issued ID.
